Convert HEIC to PDF

Turn iPhone photos into PDF files, or combine a whole batch into a single multi-page PDF. Pages are sized to A4, and everything is built in your browser, so your photos are not uploaded.

How to convert HEIC to PDF

  1. Add your photos in the order you want them to appear. Drop HEIC files onto the frame at the top, or choose them from your device.
  2. Decide how to package them. Leave "Put all photos in one PDF" ticked for a single document, or untick it to get one PDF per photo.
  3. Download. For a combined PDF use "Download one PDF". Otherwise download each file or all of them as a ZIP.

What this is good for

Most online forms, schools, landlords and government portals ask for a PDF, but a phone photo is a HEIC. Converting each photo separately and then merging them is tedious. Here you add the photos once and get a single file.

  • Submitting several photos of documents, receipts or forms as one file.
  • Sharing a set of photos as something that prints cleanly on A4.
  • Sending a portfolio or a series of pictures that should stay in order.

How the pages are laid out

Each photo gets its own A4 page. Landscape photos get a landscape page, portrait photos a portrait page, and the picture is scaled to fit inside a small margin without stretching or cropping. Page order follows the order in which you added the files.

The PDF stores each photo as a JPEG, so the quality slider controls file size. If your PDF is too large to email or upload, lower the quality to about 80 and set "Largest side" to 1920 px. A document-style photo stays perfectly readable at that size.

What this does not do

This tool wraps photos in PDF pages. It does not recognise text (OCR), straighten crooked document photos or remove shadows. If you are scanning paperwork with your iPhone, the Notes app has a built-in document scanner that does all of that, and you can then run the result through this page if you need to merge it with other photos.

Frequently asked questions

Can I combine several HEIC photos into one PDF?

Yes. Add all the photos, keep "Put all photos in one PDF" ticked, and use "Download one PDF". Pages follow the order you added the files.

What page size is used?

A4, in portrait or landscape depending on each photo. The picture is scaled to fit with a small margin and is never stretched.

My PDF is too large. How do I shrink it?

Lower the quality slider to around 80 and set "Largest side" to 1920 px. Both settings reduce the size of the JPEG data stored in the PDF.

Is the text in my document searchable?

No. The PDF contains images only. Use a scanning or OCR app if you need searchable text.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The PDF is created in your browser.
